Every year the Department of the Environment and Agenda 21 of the Berango Municipal Council organise various environmental activities, as well as activities to familiarise local citizens with Agenda 21, such as:
What is Local Agenda 21? Local Agenda 21 should be seen as being a dynamic, continuous and participatory process to improve the quality of life of the people of this town in regard to the environment, economic equilibrium and social justice. Local Agenda 21 seeks to improve our present and set up the bases for assuring our future. We are all protagonists in Local Agenda 21: political groups, Municipal Council technicians, businesses, associations…and above all the townspeople. To date, we have carried out a diagnosis of the town to find out its current state. After this, we held community participation forums to collect opinions and proposals from the people of Berango. Using this input, we then drew up a Plan of Action containing the actions that need to be carried out in our town to improve it. Contact:
